New Equipping Class: Body Life
One of the ways that the church is described in the New Testament is the “body of Christ.”
Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.
-1 Corinthians 12:27
The apostle Paul uses the human body as an analogy of how each member of the church has a specific function. As we work together, we represent Jesus to the world. Earlier in the same chapter he says, “For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ” (vs. 12) and also, “But now indeed there are many members, yet one body” (vs. 20).
Each member of the body of Christ has a unique way to contribute. As we all do our part, and as we remain connected together as a body, we become a visible representation of Jesus in the earth. That is what “Body Life” is all about!
The Body Life class is an introduction to God’s design for an interdependent, functioning local church body. You will discover God’s design for the church, and how you fit into that design.
Topics will include:
-Understanding the five-fold ministry
-Discovering your unique spiritual gifts
-Knowing your personality
-How your passions connect to your place in the body
-Learning to appreciate each other’s differences
