Kid’s Ministry

Kid’s Ministry

Make an eternal impact in the lives of children and their parents.
Role Descriptions

Kids Ministry, Nursery

Each volunteer role has its own process of qualification and training.

Purpose:

Nursery volunteers serve during Sunday evening services to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children who are 6 – 24 months old.

Specifics of the Role:

Nursey volunteers shower each child with God’s love and blessing during their stay in the nursey. The role involves:

  • Arriving to classroom 5-10 minutes before the Kids Ministry time begins
  • Overseeing the check-in process
  • Praying for the kids individually as they play and interact
  • Comforting crying children
  • Contacting parents if a child needs to be changed
  • Overseeing the check-out process
  • Cleaning and straightening out the room after the children leave
Expectations:
  1. Be committed to the values, beliefs, and leadership of Threshold.
  2. Serving in the Kid’s Ministry Team is considered a Ministry and Leadership role. Therefore, Membership to Threshold Church is required.
  3. Please Arrive by 4:45 PM to set up your class, on Sundays that you are scheduled to serve.
  4. Find a replacement for yourself in the event that you can’t make it in on a Sunday that you have committed to serve.
  5. Attend occasional Kids Ministry meetings.

Kids Ministry, Preschool

Each volunteer role has its own process of qualification and training.

Purpose:

Preschool volunteers serve during Sunday evening services to provide spiritual nourishment and an engaging environment for children who are 4 or 5 years old.

Specifics of the Role:

The Preschool volunteers shower each child with God’s love and blessing during their time in Kids Ministry. The role involves:

  • Arriving to classroom 5-10 minutes before the Kids Ministry time begins
  • Overseeing the check-in process
  • Praying for the kids individually as they play and interact
  • Reading a Kids Bible story and having a discussion about it
  • Contacting parents if a child needs to be changed
  • Overseeing the check-out process
  • Cleaning and straightening out the room after the children leave
Expectations:
  1. Be committed to the values, beliefs, and leadership of Threshold.
  2. Serving in the Kid’s Ministry Team is considered a Ministry and Leadership role. Therefore, Membership to Threshold Church is required.

Kids Ministry, Toddler

Purpose:

Toddler volunteers serve during Sunday evening services to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children who are 2 or 3 years old.

Specifics of the Role:

Toddler volunteers shower each child with God’s love and blessing during their time in Kids Ministry. The role involves:

Purpose:

Early elementary volunteers serve during Sunday evening services to provide spiritual nourishment and an engaging environment for children who are in kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Specifics of the Role:

Early elementary volunteers create a safe and welcoming environment for children to discover and desire God. The role involves:

  • Arriving to classroom 5-10 minutes before the Kids Ministry time begins
  • Overseeing the check-in process
  • Teaching or assistant teaching a lesson
  • Directing or assisting activity time and/or craft time
  • Contacting parents if a child needs to be changed
  • Overseeing the check-out process
  • Cleaning and straightening out the room after the children leave

Elementary volunteers serve during Sunday evening services to provide spiritual nourishment and an engaging environment for children who are in 3rd through 6th grade.

Specifics of the Role:

Elementary volunteers create a safe and welcoming environment for children to discover and desire God. The role involves:

  • Arriving to classroom 5-10 minutes before the Kids Ministry time begins
  • Overseeing the check-in process
  • Teaching or assistant teaching a lesson
  • Directing or assisting activity time and/or craft time
  • Contacting parents if a child needs to be changed
  • Overseeing the check-out process
  • Cleaning and straightening out the room after the children leave

Greeting Team

Greeting Team

Helping people connect and feel welcome with the Threshold Family.
Role Description

Greeting

Each volunteer role has its own process of qualification and training.

Purpose:

The Greeting Team helps people connect and feel welcome at Threshold. Greeters provide that welcoming first impression for all members and guests of Threshold.

Specifics of the Role:
  • Standing at the door and greeting the people as they arrive
  • Directing people to restrooms, nursing mothers room and kid’s area
  • Being aware of new guests as they come in
Expectations:
  1. Reply within 48 hours of being scheduled to serve. (Through email/planning center)
  2. Arrive promptly in order to be ready to greet by 4:30pm
  3. Serve with a friendly smile, take initiative, make eye contact and provide any assistance neededto all guests.

Ushers Team

Ushers Team

Assisting with Sunday evening offering and welcoming new families.
Role Description

Ushers

Each volunteer role has its own process of qualification and training.

Purpose:

Ushers serve on Sunday evenings by assisting with the offering, welcoming new families, and helping provide a safe environment for guests/members attending the service.

Specifics of the Role:
  • Responsible for taking up the church offering and making sure it is given to the Head Usher
  • Be well versed in emergency procedures. In case of an emergency, all ushers, serving that day or not will take the lead in getting people to safety
Expectations:
  1. To reply within 48 hours of being scheduled to serve. (Through email/planning center)
  2. To follow the direction of the head usher.
  3. To be ready and attentive immediately following worship on Sunday evenings.

Special Events

Special Events

Assisting with Baptism, Barn Party, Meal Set-up for new families, etc…
Role Description

Special Events Team

Each volunteer role has its own process of qualification and training.

Purpose:

The Special Events Team assists the Threshold Staff in coordinating various activities related tospecial events.

Specifics of the Role:

Events Include (not limited to, and subject to change at any time):Fellowship Meals, Summer Baptism, Baby Dedication, Fall Barn Party and Christmas Celebration
Roles could includes any of the following:

  • Collaborate on all aspects of event planning from site selection, vendor negotiation, menu development, program of activities, marketing, site walkthrough, music and post-event reporting (if applicable)
  • Create/send event marketing communications via email, web, print…etc
  • Correspondence with event vendors
  • Create/design event materials and signage for event
  • Oversee supplies that need ordered
  • Tech support
  • Setting up/Tearing down and cleaning event site
  • Other duties as assigned by Threshold Leadership Team/event coordinator.
Expectations:
  1. Be Punctual!
  2. Communicate and respond with any correspondence from the event coordinator.
  3. Be willing and able to help as needed.
  4. Participate in at least 2 events throughout the year.
  5. Have fun!

Worship Ministry

Worship Ministry

Creating an atmosphere where people can freely express their worship to God.
Role Descriptions

Worship Team

Each volunteer role has its own process of qualification and training.

Purpose:

The Worship Team exists to lead/accompany the church body in corporate times of worship inspired by the leading of the Holy Spirit. To encounter God and express His Kingdom on the earth.

Specifics of the Role:

Whether serving as a musician, singer or technician, worship team members are people who are passionate about meeting with God and enabling others to do so.

Serving on the team will include:

  • Playing/Singing in a band on Sunday Evenings
  • Weekly Rehearsals on Sunday afternoons before church
  • Quarterly Worship team meetings for training/equipping
Expectations:
  1. Serving in the Worship Team is considered a Ministry and Leadership role. Therefore, Membership to Threshold Church is required.
  2. Available Sunday Afternoons / Evenings 2:30pm – 8pm
  3. A good to excellent level of ability on your instrument or voice.
  4. Expect to have fun and make new friends and be challenged to go beyond where you’re at spiritually and musically

Audio Team

Each volunteer role has its own process of qualification and training.

Purpose:

The Audio Team exists as part of the worship team to supply all audio technical support at Threshold Church. Members of this team primarily serve during Sunday morning services.

Specifics of the Role:

Whether serving as a musician, singer, or technician, worship team members are people who are passionate about meeting with God and enabling others to do so.

Serving on the Audio team will include:

  • Overseeing the Setting up/Tearing down of all audio equipment
  • Running the soundboard on Sunday Evenings
  • Recording Sunday Evening Messages
  • Supplying Audio support for mid-week meetings as necessary
  • Be available to attend quarterly Worship department meetings.
Expectations:
  1. A good to excellent knowledge of Audio, equipment, and running of Front of House P.A.
  2. Available Sunday Evenings 2:30pm – 8pm on days when serving.

Projection Team

Each volunteer role has its own process of qualification and training.

Purpose:

Members of the Projection Team set up and run the projection and visual media during a Threshold Sunday evening service.

Specifics of the Role:

Serving on the Projection team will include:

  • Setting up and overseeing the projector and Apple TV devices
  • Running the lyrics slides during worship
  • Running all media needed for all aspects of the service as required
  • Generally being awesome!
Expectations:
  1. Basic knowledge of the projection equipment
  2. Know how to work an iPad and projection software
  3. Good attention span for long periods of time and not being distracted
  4. Being able to follow direction of a worship leader

Prayer Team

Prayer Team

Individuals devoted to prayer.
Role Descriptions

Prayer Ministry Team

Each volunteer role has its own process of qualification and training.

Purpose:

The Prayer Ministry Team exists to minister to the prayer needs of those who come to Threshold for services, conferences, etc.

Specifics of the Role:

Prayer ministry team members partner with the Holy Spirit to release the love and power of God to those in need. This will take on various forms depending on the specific situation. Some examples include:

  • Prayer for healing
  • Leading someone to Christ
  • Leading someone in prayer for repentance/forgiveness
  • Leading someone in prayer to forgive others who have hurt them
  • Prophetic ministry
  • Deliverance ministry
  • Intercession for a need
  • Encouragement/exhortation
Expectations:
  1. Be committed to the values, beliefs, and leadership of Threshold.
  2. Any time you are present at a Threshold service/conference, be prepared to minister:
    • At the end of the service (Sometimes a specific topic and other times a general invitation to receive prayer)
    • At spontaneous times of prayer ministry that may happen during the worship time
  3. Participate in occasional training events

Prayer Force

Each volunteer role has its own process of qualification and training.

Purpose:

The Prayer Force is a group of passionate believers who have a burden to intercede for the Threshold Church Family and desire to see the work and power of Jesus Christ go forth to change and transform lives.

Specifics:

Prayer Force members are committed to praying for Threshold! They lift up Threshold’s leaders and the needs of the church body on a regular basis. In a corporate setting, they help facilitate pre service prayer and pray throughout the entirety of the service by serving as “watchmen on the wall”.

On The Wall

To be “on the Wall” is a part of the ministry of Prayer Force at Threshold. Each Sunday two members of the Prayer Force will be assigned to be “on the wall.”

What it Means to be On the Wall
  • The Wall is an intercession-based ministry where two “watchmen” spend the entirety of the service interceding and discerning.
  • Interceding: Praying for the service, the message, for the Holy Spirit to move, etc.
  • Discerning: Sensing any direction, spiritual resistance/attack that needs to be addressed, how the Holy Spirit is moving, etc.
  • Typically, these two individuals will sit in the back of the sanctuary. If the two “watchmen” ministering feel something that needs to be shared with the congregation, they will submit their words to the facilitator of the service.
Expectations:
  1. Once a month meeting to intercede/listen/discern/voice what God is saying to Threshold Church.
  2. To pray during the Sunday service or Conference/Revival service (2-3 people)
  3. Pray throughout the week for Threshold Church (elders, staff, members, JKM, etc.)

Life Group

Life Group

Lead or Co Lead a Life group.
Role Description

Life Group Leader

Each volunteer role has its own process of qualification and training.

Purpose:

Life Group leaders and co-leaders provide an intentional place for connection, equipping, andother kingdom activities, outside of Threshold’s Sunday morning services.

Specifics of the Role:

Threshold Life Groups take on different shapes and sizes depending on the vision of the leader(s) of each group. The parameters for Life Groups are as follows:

  • There is a biblical basis for the group
  • There is an intentional focus/theme for the group
  • The group is in alignment with Threshold’s values, beliefs, and leadership

Life Group leaders and co-leaders lead and facilitate a group for a season of time, or for an ongoing basis. Some examples of the types of groups include:

  • Bible Studies
  • Fellowship Groups
  • Prayer Gatherings
  • Outreach Groups
  • Stage of Life Groups
  • Discipleship Groups
Expectations:
  1. Be committed to the values, beliefs, and leadership of Threshold.
  2. Serving in the Life Group Team is considered a Ministry and Leadership role. Therefore, Membership to Threshold Church is required.
  3. Able to teach/lead appropriate for the group, and able to minister in areas of gifting.
  4. Able to make the time commitment needed to function as a Life Group leader.
  5. Participate in occasional training events.

Media Team

Media Team

Assist the staff with any media needs.
Role Description
Purpose:

The Media Team is a group of volunteers that helps facilitate all things media during Sunday services, conferences, and special events.

Specifics of the Role:

The media team will be trained and equipped to help out with the following media ministries:

  • Sound Engineering
  • Camera Operation
  • Live-stream Producer
  • Lyrics/Slides
  • Photography
  • Videography
Expectations:
  1. Be Punctual!
  2. Communicate and respond with any correspondence.
  3. Be willing and able to help as needed.
