Ascend: A 21-day Time of Fasting and Prayer
Happy New Year! As we often do at the beginning of the year, we will be launching into a 21-day time of prayer and fasting. The fast will be from January 6th – 27th. During this time, we are encouraging people to participate in the fast as the Lord leads, and make it a priority to join in on our prayer gatherings.
The theme for the fast is Ascend and is based on Psalm 24. We want to start the year off with clean hands and a pure heart, and to set our hearts at seeking God’s face!
“Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
Or who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,
Nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive blessing from the Lord,
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.
This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face.” (Psalm 24:3-6)
