21 Days of Prayer and Fasting
The following is an update from pastor Jake:
The past several weeks, God has been doing some amazing things among us. A few Sunday’s ago I shared a message about the importance of an “Open Heaven” in Scripture and in the ministry of Jesus (Click here to listen).
This past Sunday I followed up this message, sharing some of the ways that God is confirming His word. Along with what God is doing and speaking, we feel a call to do a 21-day focus of prayer and fasting. We started this past Sunday, August 7th and will go through Saturday August 27th.
Pressing Into the Open Heaven
The theme of this 21-day focus is “Pressing Into the Open Heaven.” We want to cooperate with the Lord in what He is doing. His desire is for His kingdom to come and His will to be done “on earth as it is in heaven.” We are pressing into what He is doing to see the heavens opened and the Holy Spirit poured out!
There are two primary areas of prayer for this time:
1. Breaking Every Barrier or Hindrance
Let’s ask God to break through everything that stands in the way of us living in the reality of an open heaven over our lives, church, and region. Whether there are internal obstacles or external obstacles, let’s pray for them to be exposed and removed. (Key Scriptures: Daniel 10:10-14, Micah 2:13, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5)
2. Opening of our Eyes to See
Let’s ask God to open up our eyes to see what we need to see in order to access all that He has for us in this season. This includes the eyes of our heart/understanding in order to perceive spiritual truth, as well as our spiritual eyes in order to perceive what is happening in the spiritual realm. (Key Scriptures: Luke 24:44-45, Ephesians 1:17-18, 2 Kings 6:16-17)
Join a Prayer Gathering
Over the next three weeks we will have multiple weekly prayer gatherings. I encourage you to join in one of these and/or have some prayer gatherings of your own.
