A Call to Fast and Pray: January 1st, 2nd and 3rd
Below is a letter from Jeff Nolt in regards to the invitation he gave several weeks ago, for our church body to fast and pray to be free from unbelief.
As we have been discussing in our messages lately, unbelief plagues the church of North America. This is not difficult to see when we contrast our lives with scriptures such as Mark 16:17-18
“These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
According to Jesus in this passage, supernatural power is the evidence of one who has believed, yet many of us who call ourselves believers have never participated with the Lord in any type of supernatural activity.
Let’s change this!
In the story of the epileptic boy in Mathew 17, unbelief is the reason Jesus gives the disciples for their failure in being able to heal the epileptic boy. Jesus goes on to say that prayer and fasting is how you find freedom from unbelief.
I want to be free from unbelief and I want to run with a company of people who are free from unbelief. Our world needs us to be this kind of people.
I am inviting you all to join me in three days of fasting and prayer for freedom from unbelief.
Let’s set aside the first three days of 2011 and fast to whatever degree we are able, keeping our prayer simple, “LORD FREE US FROM UNBELIEF AND FILL US WITH THE FAITH OF JESUS!”
All for the glory of God!
***In accordance with this corporate fast there will be no fellowship meal on January 2nd, 2011.***
